Happy New Year!

This time of year I try to review and adjust my ideas a bit. "Resolutions" can be problematic, because they sometimes feel more like burdens to be tossed than helpful guidelines that reorient us toward our plans. But regardless there's something to a time for introspection and personal accountability. What worked? What didn't? Sometimes we can pivot in a moment, other times it feels like turning a ship. Either way, knowing the direction is crucial.
Of course, choosing a new course (or choosing to stay the current one) depends tremendously on knowing where things currently stand, and that itself is subject to the vagarities of memory and perception. To that end, a diary can help maintain a long-term record of what happened and when, with the goal of keeping to whatever track was chosen.
